AYURVEDA
For Yoga Teachers
A 3-Day immersive training in Self Practice & Integration
June 26 - 28th, 2026
at Alma Yoga Studio, Rincón, Puerto Rico
Understand the way your unique system moves with nature—so your practice & your teaching can begin to support you, not deplete you.
Are you tired of falling off your personal practice?
Teaching more classes than you can keep up with?
Has it been a long time since you’ve led a class practice for people?
Do you want your teaching to feel more intentional, intuitive, and grounded in your own experience?
Then, you’re in the right place.
All these feelings point to something BIGGER
Symptoms speak to you, trying to get your attention.
But the reality is— this work is deeply body based. Being disconnected from your essence doesn’t support you showing up authentically with your gifts. Ayurveda holds the tools to build a sustainable and integratable practice, for yourself and your students.
This is for you if…
You desire to connect with a more embodied way of leading & engaging with your yoga practice
For the teacher that…
Is actively teaching AND ready to deepen their approach
Is experiencing fluctuations in energy or burnout and wants to adopt a more cyclical way of leading
Is ready to step into their fullness and embody their most authentic expression through their teaching
Has not taught in a long time and is finding their way back with steadiness and rootedness.
WHY THIS WORK IS IMPORTANT
Transform from INSTRUCTOR→ TEACHER
Teaching yoga can ask a lot of your energy.
Holding space, guiding others, staying present…
over time, it requires a level of awareness that isn’t always taught in traditional trainings. Especially if you are in it for the long run.
Many teachers learn how to sequence a class,
but not how to stay connected to their own system while leading a full schedule, or when the class load is low— still zapping your energy.
Many learn how to instruct others, but not how to work with their own energy patterns & cycles.
This is where Ayurveda comes in.
Not as an added layer of knowledge,
but as a framework for understanding how you function—physically, mentally, and energetically.
When you begin to apply it, something shifts.
You stop forcing a rhythm that doesn’t fit your nature.
You start recognizing when you’re out of rhythm so you can remain in integrity.
You learn how to support your system before it reaches depletion.
From that place, your teaching practice becomes a sustainable, more intentional, and more connective lived experience.
WHAT WILL SHIFT :
You’ll understand your energy to lead from a rooted place
Your teaching will feel more connected to the cycles of nature
Your classes will become more memorable and impactful
You’ll stop overriding your body’s signals and learn to use it as your compass
It all begins when you remember & reconnect with your own nature.
Ayurveda guides you like a wise mother to sync up naturally with harmonizing rhythms.
In this training, you will learn :
Foundations of Ayurveda and its relationship to Yoga
Understanding your constitution and patterns
Deep dive into Dosha Theory (Vata, Pitta, Kapha) and how they function in the body and mind
How to recognize imbalances in yourself and work with them using Ayurvedic principles
The role of daily rhythms, lifestyle, and self-awareness in maintaining connection to self
Practical ways to support your energy through simple, sustainable rituals & rhythms
How to begin integrating Ayurvedic principles into your life, yoga classes & personal practice
Upon completion of this training, you will receive 10 hrs of CEUs through YA
The Flow
-
We begin with the foundations of Ayurveda and its relationship to yoga, exploring constitution types, their typical patterns, and cross-referencing them with your current patterns.
Through this lens, we’ll look at how imbalance develops and how it shows up in the body, mind, and energy.
You’ll leave with:
Awareness of how imbalance develops and shows up
A clear understanding of constitution types, Doshic roles in the body, and their tendencies
A simple framework for observing your own energy and patterns
-
We’ll build clarity & awareness of how your energy shifts throughout the day, seasons, and different life phases.
Diving deeply into how the qualities of the elements influence your system, helping you map how to cultivate natural rhythms that sustain you.
You’ll leave with:
A working understanding of qualities and how to use them
Simple tools to support balance in your daily life
A clear way to approach common patterns in yourself and students through Asana & Pranayama
-
Here, we bring everything into practice by learning how to apply Ayurvedic principles in a realistic and supportive way.
This includes working with common patterns of imbalance, integrating simple lifestyle tools, and exploring how asana, pranayama, and class sequencing can be adapted to support different doshic needs.
You’ll leave with:
Practical guidance for adapting asana, pranayama, and sequencing as per the Doshas
A simple structure for creating more intentional, supportive classes
Clarity on how to call in the teaching opportunities that align with your unique expression

Hi, I am Mònica Casanova
I’ll be your Ayurvedic guide!
I am an Ayurvedic Practitioner, Panchakarma Therapist, Doula, and yoga teacher with a deep passion for bridging Ayurvedic wisdom and yoga in a practical, grounded way.
Since beginning to teach yoga 2015, I have supported hundreds of students and clients through Ayurvedic education, yoga, women’s wellness, along with holistic healing practices.
What continues to inspire me most about Ayurveda is its ability to help us better understand ourselves — our patterns, rhythms, energy, and relationship to daily life. I believe these teachings offer practical tools that can deeply support both personal practice and the way we show up as teachers and guides in the world.
It’s truly an honor to share this work and create spaces where these teachings can be explored in an accessible, embodied, and supportive way. I’m so grateful you’ve found yourself here.
Why I Created This Training
Over the last decade I’ve taught in studios, corporate settings, at gyms, retreats, prenatal spaces, private clients, and then a few festivals got thrown in the mix! Teaching yoga while going to school for Ayurveda was a huge part of my journey. What I began noticing as I got deeper in my studies was how much energy it truly takes to hold space consistently.
While yoga gave me incredible tools, Ayurveda helped me understand how to work with my own energy patterns and rhythms in a more intuitive way.
This training was born from the desire to share the foundations of these teachings in a way that feels practical, grounded, and accessible for yoga teachers navigating the realities of modern life and teaching.
Rather than offering more information to memorize, my intention is to help teachers build a deeper relationship with themselves so the way they practice, teach, and hold space can feel more supported and sustainable over time.
What sets this program apart…
TRAINING IN REAL TIME + IN-PERSON CONNECTION
This training is designed to be experienced in real time, within a small group setting.
Throughout the weekend, there is space for reflection, discussion, and integration—allowing you to engage with the material as it relates to your own practice and teaching.
Rather than moving quickly through information, we take time to pause, observe, and understand how these principles show up in your lived experience.
INTEGRATED AYURVEDIC PRACTICES
Ayurveda offers a holistic framework for understanding the body, mind, energy, and relationship to daily life. These teachings naturally complement yoga and other holistic modalities by supporting greater awareness, balance, and sustainability in the way we care for ourselves.
This training blends foundational Ayurvedic wisdom with practical application, drawing from my decade-long background in yoga teaching, Ayurvedic bodywork, Doula care, and over 20 years of movement & dance, training to create an experience that is both grounded and accessible.
